Smart Grid Thermique & Electrique

Smart Grid Thermique & Electrique
One of the buildings of the residence of the Smart Thermal & Electrical Grid

The Thermal & Electrical Smart Grid is an energy demonstrator applied to a set of renovated residential buildings, constituting a pilot district, to experiment with innovative solutions for production, storage and management of energy on a local scale.

Based on the complementarity between solar energy and geothermal power, it addresses the issue of the seasonal gap between production and needs. The energy produced by the solar is used to thermally charge the soil during the summer. In winter, it is returned for heating and domestic hot water.

  • Photovoltaic solar panel area on the roof: 286 m2 for 62 kWp
  • 14 probes on 1300m2, depth of 185 m
  • Charging station for up to 12 7.4 kW charging stations
  • Self-consumption rate of 80%
  • Reduction of about 60% in energy consumption and about 80% in carbon emissions for the neighbourhood
  • Laboratories involved: LMD, I3, CRG, LIX
