Modeling Lab
A tool for energy and climate
Understand and predict
The Energy4Climate Modelling Lab is a division within E4C dedicated to the integrated modelling of energy and climate interactions, and is presented as the digital counterpart of E4C’s Living Lab. It makes E4C one of the few, if not the only, international research centre to address these two dimensions jointly, where they are generally treated separately. The E4C modeling lab structures an innovative modeling ecosystem around forecasting and foresight issues.
The modeling tools developed in a modular and interoperable way range from the scale of subsystems such as batteries or photovoltaic or wind generation devices, up to the complete energy system that allows representing, Analyze and forecast the operation of an energy system by integrating various components such as production, storage, distribution and consumption of energy, taking into account technological, economic and environmental constraints.
Our modeling modules
Modeling modules include:
E4Cast-wind and E4Cast-solar
E4Clim
EOLES
ORCHID
res-IRF
These models can be forward-looking (assessing future scenarios based on public policies, emerging technologies, etc.) or operational (forecasting and optimising the supply-demand balance in real time).
