Living Lab
The energy transition tested under real conditions on campus
The Energy4Climate center demonstrates the energy transition on the ground by transforming the IP Paris campus into a unique Living Lab. It is deploying full-scale technology demonstrators: agrivoltaic farms, connected gardens, CO 2 capture and recovery, electric and thermal smart grids, as well as electric vehicles for car sharing. These platforms, where people live and work, are an experiment in real conditions, promoting innovation and fundamental research within E4C’s laboratories. They also provide IP Paris students with an exceptional setting to carry out projects and internships. By making this infrastructure available to staff, with access to charging stations and shared vehicles, the Living Lab is facilitating the adoption of solutions for the energy transition. Finally, this Living Lab serves as an open-air showroom, attracting investors and manufacturers who can observe innovations that can be reproduced on a large scale.
